Delayed for a Hat

My next shipment of the Eaglemoss 1:8 scale Ghostbusters Ecto-1 should have arrived by now. I am on an ‘bi-weekly’ shipping schedule, but my last issue arrived three weeks ago and I have no pending charge/shipping notifications. When I reached out to Eaglemoss US customer service, I was first told that my next issues (15-18) are being held up because they do not have Free Gift #3 (the Baseball Cap) in stock.

I don’t wear hats so I told them to skip this gift. They said they could not skip the gift, then changed their story to say some of the stages were unavailable instead. I’m leaning towards the missing hats being the real problem.

This has happened before on my Mercedes-Benz 300SL and Nissan GT-R builds, where they held up issues 27-30 because of out-of-stock Display Bases. Strangely enough, they skipped over other gifts (like the spec stands) and kept shipping issues. I guess Eaglemoss does what they want when they want. Since they make no money on these partworks when issues do not ship, I would think they would want to send out issues constantly in order to keep the income flowing in, regardless if some freebies are unavailable.

Sadly, this means my Ecto-1 build is currently delayed. I will let you all know when I hear anything…

UPDATE July 9, 2020: I finally received Stages 15-18 along with the Baseball Cap gift.
