The Rear Door
As with my two Front Doors, I wanted to install the Door Transfer Kit from Mike Lane on this Rear Door. As the door came with a pre-applied logo sticker, I started this stage by peeling it off and removing any adhesive residue with isopropyl alcohol. I will apply the transfer at the end of this stage:
Step 01
Fit the pin and post of the Door Handle to the matching holes on the Rear Door, as shown:
Secure the Door Handle into place from the other side with one (1) AM screw.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Step 02
Align the Hinge to these matching posts inside the Rear Door and secure it into place with two (2) RM screws, as shown.
On my model, this Hinge did not want to sit down over the posts. I needed to use a round needle file to remove some of the paint from the holes:
Then, the Hinge fit down perfectly and could be secured as instructed:
Now that we are done handling this Rear Door for a while, I took the time to install the new rub-on logo. Full details on this process can be found HERE:
Thoughts
Four doors down, so this is the last one! We will finish this Rear Door and mount it in the next set of stages, so store it safely until then.
