“In this stage, you fit the two ceiling lights to the central ceiling panel, finally fitting the panel to the model’s frame.”

Materials: All of these parts are plastic.

Interior Ceiling Lights

Step 01

Firmly press the two Interior Light Lenses into the two Interior Light Bases, as shown.

Either Lens can be fitted into either Base:

Step 02

Fit the Interior Light Base Left (marked ‘L’) and Interior Light Base Right (marked ‘R’) down into these holes of the Central Ceiling Panel.

To determine the left and right sides of the Ceiling Panel, note that the wiring grooves run to the front edge of the PanelAs these Bases are fitted, rotate them so the tiny arrow markings are pointing towards the wiring groove, as shown:

Next, retrieve your Body assembly from the previous stage and place it upside down. Locate the two LEDs on the Ceiling Light LED cable (66E – marked ‘S’). Press the heads of these LEDs into the matching holes in the back of the Interior Light Bases.

Remember, take special precautions to protect the Deck Lights on the roof of the Body!

The LED on the longer wire of this Ceiling Light LED cable should go into the Interior Light Base Right, as shown:

Gently bend the leads of each LED towards the wiring grooves, laying them as flat as possible to the Ceiling Panel as shown:

Secure the cables of each LED into the respective wiring groove of the Ceiling Panel with a Sticker – one for each cable.

On my model, I did not use the provided Stickers. In these situations, I like to use real electrical tape. I used one piece to cover the exposed leads of each LED – this will help prevent any electrical shorting against the metal Body:

I used another smaller piece of tape to secure the cabling into the wiring groove, as shown:

Step 03

Fit the Central Ceiling Panel to the inner roof of the Body, orienting it as shown and align the screw holes.

Be sure the cables of the LEDs do not become pinched or trapped beneath the Panel. They should come out under the front edge and, if you look closely, you can see a groove in the Body where these wires will be routed over towards the left B-pillar area:

Secure this Ceiling Panel into place with four (4) EM screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

There were a couple things that the instructions did not make clear, such as the grooves and arrows on these parts. But, we got it all figured out and everything ended up OK!
