STAGE 126

 Return to the BUILD

“In this stage, you assemble the right front wheel and supporting legs to the underside of the gurney, then fix the four T-racks to the top of the bed.”

Many of these steps will be nearly identical to those in Stage 124.

Materials: The Wheel Leg, Lock Pole, and both Telescopic Legs are metal while the other parts are plastic.

Build

Gurney Right Front Wheel & T-Racks

Step 01

Fit the Right Front Wheel between the tabs of the Right Front Wheel Leg and secure the Wheel into place with two (2) FM screws – one on each side of the Leg.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Next, align the tabs of the Telescopic Leg Lower to the eyelet on the side of the Wheel Leg, and secure it into place with one (1) AM screw.

The screw should be inserted from this side of the Wheel Leg, as shown:

Retrieve your Gurney assembly from the previous stage. Then, fit the ‘hook’ on the end of the Wheel Leg under the bar at this location of the Gurney Lower Frame, orienting it as shown. Finally, cover this end of the Wheel Leg with a Wheel Leg Fixing and secure these parts together with one (1) FM screw.

This should capture the Wheel Leg to the Lower Frame, but still allow it to rotate up and down. Adjust the tightness of the FM screw as necessary:

Step 02

Slot one end of the Wheel Lock Pole between the tabs of a Wheel Lock Pole Base, align the holes, and then secure these two parts together with one (1) AP screw:

Next, fit the Wheel Lock to the other end of the Wheel Lock Pole and secure it into place with one (1) EP screw.

This Wheel Lock should be attached to the same side of the Pole as the AP screw we just installed. The EP screw should be snug, but not too tight:

Then, fit the Pole Base to this location on the underside of the Gurney Bed, orienting it to the matching holes as shown. Secure it into place with four (4) YP screws.

The position of the black AP screw indicates the orientation of this part as you install it:

Finally, clip the C-clamp of the Wheel Lock onto the Left Front Wheel Leg as shown.

You should now be able to fold and extend the Wheel Leg:

Step 03

Fit the eyelet of the Telescopic Leg Upper between the tabs of the Telescopic Leg Base, and then secure these parts together with one (1) AP screw:

Slide the open end of the Leg Upper over the Telescopic Leg Lower, as shown.

The part numbers are reversed in the image shown in the magazine for this step:

Align the Leg Base to the matching holes at this location on the Gurney Bed, and then secure it into place with two (2) YP screws.

This Leg Base is not symmetrical – make sure it is oriented to match the shape of the mounting point on the Bed, as shown:

Step 04

Align a T-Rack to the matching holes at this location on top of the Gurney Bed, as shown. There is a locating pin that fits into an alignment hole between the screw holes.

Secure this T-Rack into place with four (4) YP screws:

Install the remaining three T-Rack parts to these remaining locations along the Gurney Bed. Secure each T-Rack with twelve (12) YP screws – four for each T-Rack:

Thoughts

While only three of our four gurney Wheels are installed, if we balance it just right it will stand up on its own! Keep the extra Wheel Lock Pole Base nearby as we will need it in the next stage.
