Build
Gentec Antenna & Emergency Brake Pedal
Step 01
Fit the Gentec 525 Antenna Center into the Gentec 525 Antenna Body and secure these parts together with one (1) BP screw:
The center should fit flush into the body, as shown:
Fit the Gentec 525 Antenna Base to the side of the Gentec 525 Antenna Body and secure with one (1) GP screw.
There is a hole on the side of the Gentec 525 Antenna Body:
This hole is where the base attaches, as shown:
Retrieve your Dashboard Upper Panel assembly from the previous stage. Secure the Gentec 525 Antenna assembly to this location on the Dashboard Upper Panel with four (4) GP screws, as shown:
Later on, I did end up replacing the stock Gentec 525 Antenna with a more detailed one included in the Interior Set 1 from Scaled Modz:
Step 02
Carefully remove each Switch from the sprue. There are eight (8) of them.
I recommend using sprue cutters or a sharp hobby knife to remove these. Make sure you cut them off at the right point, as shown:
Insert the longer pin of each Switch into the eight holes of the Switch Panel, as shown:
First, I want to show off the detail of the labelling on the Switch Panel. How great is this?!
OK, I tried using tweezers to install these Switches into the Switch Panel, but they take a bit of force to push in and the first one pinged off into my carpet. It took an hour on my hands and knees to find it. Instead, I ended up clamping each Switch in my craft vise and pushing the Switch Panel down on them. This worked much better…
Retrieve your Dashboard Lower Panel assembly we last worked on in Stage 38. Fit the Switch Panel to this location and secure into place with two (2) BP screws, as shown:
Do not over-tighten these screws, just snug is fine:
Step 03
Fit the Fuel Gauge to this location on the Dashboard Lower Panel and secure it into place with two (2) EP screws:
Fit the Battery Indicator to this location on the Dashboard Lower Panel and secure it into place with one (1) EP screw:
With these switches/gauges installed, it should look like this:
Finally, fit the Emergency Brake Pedal to this location on the Dashboard Lower Panel and secure it into place with one (1) EP screw:
This slots into the panel and ‘hooks’ over the screw, as shown:
Step 04
Fit the Dashboard Lower Panel to the Dashboard Upper Panel as shown…
… then, secure them together with three (3) LP screws:
Thoughts
I love the tiny details included in this build, more than I have ever seen before! The pre-printed parts are simply fantastic. I look forward to every stage of this model!
