Return to the BUILD
“In this stage, you fit parts to the body front frame, including the hood lock pin.”
Materials: The Body Front Frame and the Engine Identification Plate are metal, while the smaller body parts are plastic.
Body Front Frame
Fit the Body Front Frame Left to this location on the Body Front Frame, aligning the locating pin and screw holes as shown.
These plastic parts are marked ‘L’ and ‘R’ so you will know which is which:
Secure the Body Front Frame Left into place with two (2) BM screws.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
In the same way, fit the Body Front Frame Right to the opposite side of the Body Front Frame, and secure into place with two (2) BM screws:
Slide the D-shaped base of the Hood Lock Pin into this central hole of the Body Front Frame:
You might need to rotate the Hood Lock Pin a bit until it sits completely flush into the hole, like this:
Secure the Hood Lock Pin into place from below using one (1) BP screw:
Peel the backing paper from one side of the Adhesive Strip and apply it to the back of the Engine Information Plate:
Remove the second backing paper from the Adhesive Strip and stick the Engine Information Plate to this location of the Body Front Frame.
Make sure this Engine Information Plate (VIN plate) is facing the correct way, as shown:
This little Engine Information Plate actually has a lot of detail to it. And, from what I can tell, the data on it is accurate too!
While we only attached some small parts to this Body Front Frame, I am excited that we are finally be receiving the main body pieces. And, this is only the beginning!
