I did not receive a shipment of the Eaglemoss 1:8 scale Ghostbusters Ecto-1 last month or this month. I called Customer Service today and was told that stages 87-90 are out-of-stock with no ETA. It turns out I was on a 12 stages-per-shipment schedule and that was holding up the next two issues because the third was unavailable. I have dropped it down to 8 stages-per-shipment, so hopefully I will get stages 79-82 and 83-86 here shortly.
UPDATE Jul 17, 2021: Stages 79-86 have arrived and should be up shortly!
I have had many visitors ask about the tools and supplies that I use to build my partworks, so I have created a ‘Shop‘ over at my main build site with Amazon links to most of the items I have used along the way. All proceeds go towards supporting my site costs, not for profit. I hope you all find this helpful!
My last shipment of the Eaglemoss 1:8 scale Ghostbusters Ecto-1 was almost two months ago. I called Customer Service last week and was told that stages 59-62 are out-of-stock with no ETA. It appears we are in a holding pattern again.
UPDATE Mar 16 2021: Stages 59-62 have now shipped and should arrive shortly.
There will be over a thousand parts that make up this Eaglemoss 1:8 scale Ghostbusters Ecto-1 partworks build-up. I have put a small page together that lists the number of parts and screws in each stage as well as running totals.
The Display Base consists of a mirrored surface (under a protective film I am told, I am waiting to this remove later) inside a wooden frame. The frame is finished with a matte lacquer paint and the corner seams are filled pretty well. It is huge; more than 37″ long! At the front, there is a glossy faceplate with the Ghostbusters logo in full color (also under a protective film in this image):
This design is slightly different than what is shown on the Eaglemoss website, but it is very close and perfectly acceptable:
With Issue 12’s shipment, I should have received the final free gift: the Display Base. Instead, I received the IOU note pictured above. I am not all that concerned as I never use the supplied bases for my partwork builds. It should arrive soon, and when it does, I will let everyone know.
This T-Shirt is black cotton and has a two-color silk screened imprint on the front (nothing on the rear or sleeves). I received a size XL, but I did call Eaglemoss in advance to make sure I got the right size. It is a nice gift and that will surely get used.
Throughout the subscription build of models like this Eaglemoss 1:8 scale Ghostbusters Ecto-1, the publisher typically includes ‘Special Offers’. These items are automatically sent, and are billed in addition to the monthly subscription. If you do not wish to receive them, you must notify Eaglemoss in advance via phone at (800) 261-6898 or via email at email@example.com.
Special #1 was the four Proton Packs and a Ghost Trap. This time around, it is a limited-edition 12 x 16″ color-printed poster. Each poster includes a unique numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by artist the artist, Brian Williamson. Eaglemoss will charge us $42.95 for these items.
Sadly, I have already reached out to Eaglemoss and turned this offer down. I am not paying that much for a little poster I know I will not use.
